The Official ILADS Guideline for treating Lyme disease and other tick borne infections.

These Guidelines should be a Bible for any doctor who cares enough to treat his or her patients for any tick borne infections.

One week of antibiotics is NOT enough to kill off the soup of bacteria which can eventually lead to the patient developing severe illnesses from tick bites. Sadly, many people have suffered permanent disability through this oversight and many lives have been ruined both physically and financially. Not to mention the mental anguish caused to the patients by this shortsightedness.

DIAGNOSTIC HINTS AND TREATMENT GUIDELINES FOR LYME AND OTHER TICK BORNE ILLNESSES
by JOSEPH J. BURRASCANO JR, MD
SEPTEMBER, 2008

In general, you can think of Lyme Borreliosis as having three categories:
acute, early disseminated, and chronic.

The sooner treatment is begun after the start of the infection, the higher the success rate.

However, since it is easiest to cure early disease, this category of Lyme Borreliosis must be taken VERY seriously.

Under-treated infections will inevitably resurface, usually as chronic Lyme, with its tremendous problems of morbidity and difficulty with diagnosis and treatment and high cost in every sense of the word.

So, while the bulk of this document focuses of the more problematic chronic patient, strong emphasis is also placed on earlier stages of this illness where closest attention and care must be made.

If you suspect that you may be affected by a tick borne infection like Rickettsia, Lyme disease and it's many co-infections, please take a look at this link which has invaluable information.

Borrelia (Lyme) Neurotoxin

Research has shown that Borrelia (Lyme bacteria) produce neurotoxins in the body and can cause symptoms which are similar to encephalopathy as well as on-going inflammation within the body. They are also know to interfere with hormonal activity by blocking the hormone receptors.

The longer a person has been ill with Lyme disease, the more neurotoxins will be found in the body. The neurotoxins are thought to be stored in fatty tissues of the body and once they get there, they persist for a long time.

Finally a Research Article that admits that Chronic Lyme Disease DOES exist and needs to be addressed by the medical fraternity so that we can find solutions...

Lyme disease is physically, emotionally and financially draining!

"In 1989, a doctor published an article in the Toronto Star saying if we don't deal with Lyme disease now, it is going to become an epidemic."

I am not a doctor, but today 7th July 2011, I am sticking my neck out and saying if South Africa is not careful and does not Face up to and deal with Lyme disease (also known as Lyme Borreliosis / Neuro Borreliosis) and it's co-infections soon,  it is going to become another epidemic, here in SA, much like HIV/Aids!

Most South African doctors don't believe you can get Lyme disease in South Africa.  In 1996 I told my GP I was 100% sure I had Lyme disease based purely on symptoms.  He told me it was IMPOSSIBLE to get Lyme in South Africa.  I recall telling him well if it wasn't called Lyme here, maybe it had another name. He did not listen to me and I just went from specialist to specialist.  I had another bladder opperation, I was hospitalised on traction for a week, four times in 1999.  Underwent a cervical manipulation under anaesthetic due to the sever neck pain in 2000.   I missed a neck fusion as the neurosurgeon felt I was 'too borderline' !! I was treated for 'epilepsy' for 5 or 6 years..., diagnosed as an asthmatic in June 2009...!

I battled with my health for 16 years until I my final collapse in November 2009.  Thankfully I found a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD) who diagnosed me with Rickettsia conorii, Q Fever (coxiella burnetti), Mycoplasma pneumonia and you guessed it !!  Borreliosis (Lyme Disease).  I have lived in South Africa since a baby and was bitten by ticks in my own garden in Johannesburg.

               PLEASE!!  WAKE UP SOUTH AFRICA !!

LYME DISEASE IS HERE - THE TIME BOMB IS TICKING !!!

Why is Borrelia so hard to kill ?

This is a very informative video put together by Connie Strasheim.  I finally understand what Biofilms are now. :-)

Lyme disease and an overload of bacteria and goggas in your body !!

This article is written by a fellow Lyme patient and I believe it has a lot of very good personal information in it.
People often wonder why they don't get 'better' after a short dose of antibiotics...  The reason being... the bugs (parasites and bacteria) are not getting killed adequately!!

Monday, 16 May 2011

Lyme disease bacteria love to feed on the brain tissue and CNS.

This says it all... !

"The infection is not just bacterial as all say, trying to dismiss the severity of Lyme Disease;

the infection are parasites who look for food and for a place to make their camping (ground)!

When they invade the blood, the anemia is severe; the malaria parasites go inside the red blood cells, one bug per one red blood cell;

while the Lyme parasites are three at a time invading each red blood cells, three times worse than malaria - this is the Babesiosis - and the Borrelia that is always called a "resistant bacteria" it is just another "intracellular bacteria" which certainly means another type of parasite malaria like.

So after having such infection in the organism the body breaks. The sudden anemia causes fatigue and from there tons of symptoms start.

The bugs stay in the blood for a short period of time but soon they migrate to other places,

they want to hide in the smaller veins to hide from the attacks of the immune system and or antibiotics when the person receives treatment, and they're hungry too,

so they go where they can feed and reproduce better.

The malaria parasites go to the liver and the brain, that's why they kill their host so fast.

The bugs of LD are smarter, they migrate to many places to not kill their host, there are many cases of people living with Lyme for more than 20 or 30 years and all the time symptomatic and suffering;

yes many others die from a heart attack and other complications but these bugs do not pretend to kill just to live long."

Immune dysfunction and antibiotics and neurological problems

Ever had a Live Blood Test?

It is quite awesome to see what is running around in a tiny pin prick of blood under the microscope. Bacteria like busy little bees buzzing about.  If you are unlucky enough to be chronically ill, you could see parasites,  fungi and even possibly cholesterol crystals.

"People of the ILADS/chronic Lyme disease community, have long claimed that Lyme disease infection (Borrelia spirochetes) is immunosupressive: this, it is argued, why co-infections, erstwhile opportunists, are able to easily grab a foothold."

Lyme disease cannot be overlooked if a patient with neurological problems has ever been bitten by a tick.

Spirochete Warfare... It's been going on for over 75 years !!

It has now become apparent that the spirochetes were weaponized over 75 years ago. This information is published in 1944 in a book entitled "Japan's Secret Weapon" by Barclay Newman who was a leading science writer of the time, as well as former US Navy malaria scientist.

This book helps to confirm what some investigating the history of Lyme disease have long suspected; that the official denial of the devastating pathogenic nature of the granule and other "L-forms"(1) of Lyme-causing Borrelia, is related to their biological warfare significance.

Put bluntly, this book provides cogent circumstantial evidence that many Cell-wall deficient forms of Borrelia are in fact weaponized spirochetes, nurtured, cultured and optimized for aerosol delivery.

The following essay is based on the information in Chapter IV of Newman's book. The title of the chapter is simply "Spirochete Warfare".

Lyme Disease and Biowarfare: Another Accidental Release of Information

Lyme Disease and Biowarfare:
Another Accidental Release of Information

By Elena Cook
http://www.elenacook.org
Once again, there has been an accidental release of information from the US biological warfare establishment, confirming that the agent of Lyme disease is a bioweapon.
In patent no. WO/2008/147879 filed with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), UMDNJ Biomedical Informatics expert Ryan Golhar PhD describes "a processing technique, associated method, product description, and related software... for achieving rapid identification of DNA".(1) The author explains how his invention may be used to detect a very wide range of biological warfare pathogens:
"The present invention provides methods and devices for the identification of bioagents via the presence of their nucleic acids. In the context of the present invention, a 'bioagent' is any organism, living or dead, or a nucleic acid derived from such an organism. Examples of bioagents include but are not limited to cells (including but not limited to human clinical samples, bacterial cells and other pathogens) viruses, toxin genes and bioregulating compounds). Samples may be alive or dead or in a vegetative state (for example, vegetative bacteria or spores) and may be encapsulated or bioengineered."
Golhar then goes on to list the many biowarfare pathogens, which may be detected using his technique. The list is subdivided into bacterial, viral, toxin, and fungal weapons. The list of bacterial agents is as follows:
"Bacterial biological warfare bioagents capable of being detected by the present methods include, but are not limited to, Bacillus anthracis (anthrax), Yersinia pestis (pneumonic plague), Franciscella tularensis (tularemia), Brucella suis, Brucella abortus, Brucella melitensis (undulant fever), Burkholderia mallei (glanders), Burkholderia pseudomalleii (melioidosis), Salmonella typhi (typhoid fever), Rickettsia typhii (epidemic typhus), Rickettsia prowasekii (endemic typhus) and Coxiella burnetii (Q fever), Rhodobacter capsulatus, Chlamydia pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteriae, Shigella flexneri, Bacillus cereus, Clostridium botulinum, Coxiella burnetti, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Legionella pneumophila, Borrelia burgdorferi (Lyme disease), and Vibrio cholerae."
Emphasis mine.
The official position of the public health agencies in the US and other NATO countries is that Lyme disease is rare, difficult to acquire, easily cured with a short course of antibiotics, and almost never causes chronic neurological disablement.
Tens of thousands of patients, their lives blighted by lifelong suffering, beg to disagree. They have organised themselves into campaigns, mostly in the US, but some abroad.

Lyme Disease - Misdiagnoses And Medical Dictatorship

QUOTE:

"Hundreds of thousands of sick, disabled and dying people are intentionally being denied proper testing, diagnoses and treatment. Many feel that this is due to the greed of the pharmeceutical companies and perhaps the depopulation goals of the bureaucratic elite. The later isn't such a far fetched idea. Henry Kissenger himself, in his National Security Memorandum, advised the President that there were 13 countries in Africa which were growing much too rapidly, were threatening the availability of certain resources, and that we needed to either decrease the birth rate or increase the death rate. Not too long after this proposal, the World health Organization visited these countries with free smallpox vaccines. Several years later 60% of the people who recieved these shots, presented with the AIDS virus. A similar scenerio took place in NYC. Hepatitis B vaccines were given out free to promiscuous gay men. Soon after, 60% of this population also came down with AIDS."

Trailer for "Under The Eightball" (Click Here)

Under the Eightball reveals the shocking yet little-known roots of Lyme Disease in the US Biological Weapons program and their subsequent effort to conceal it.

This film uncovers the truth about chronic illnesses, their causes and disease testing on humans!

Where does the truth start and where does it end?

How did Lyme disease turn up in South Africa?

And why do SA doctors say you cannot get Lyme disease in South Africa, when I clearly did way back in 1994 or even as far back as 1985...? !!

Could it be that there was some collusion way back then between the USA and SA armies into chemical bio-weapons?

The new Pandemic sweeping the US...! second to HIV/Aids.

The new Pandemic, second to HIV/Aids, is sweeping the USA.  Are we in South Africa next?

Lyme disease had no limits. it could strike the rich or poor, the healthy and office bound, and in a great deal of cases, you may not even see the tiny ticks infecting you. It is an infectious disease and in the years since the mid 70's has spread like wildfire through humans, around the world. NOT only in the US as many believe.

However, the medical authorities have always been way behind the times in diagnosing and treating this disease.
In addition to ticks, it has been learned that Borrelia, the bacteria in Lyme disease, may be carried and transmitted by fleas, mosquitoes and mites. Also it is not exclusively vector-borne. Humans have been known to pass the disease through mother-to-fetus-, breast-feeding and blood transfusions.

A Plague of Ignorance regarding the Ignorance of a Plague

My objective for writing this report is to help inform the layman and the medical community about the extremely complex infection called Lyme disease. I have recently been infected with Lyme disease and I will share my experience and what I have learned about the complex nature of Lyme disease in this report.

I continue to update this report and I foresee many revisions of it in the future as more information regarding Lyme disease surfaces. I have recently been introduced to a major medical breakthrough discovered by Dr. Trevor Marshall, research director at the Autoimmunity Research Foundation in Thousand Oaks, CA. I have updated this version of the report to include this vital information.

Lyme disease (LD) is a seriously complex multi-system inflammatory disease that is triggered by the bacterial lipoproteins (BLPs) produced by the spiral-shaped bacteria called Borrelia. Borrelia are difficult to isolate, grow, and study in the laboratory. So, our technical knowledge of this pathogen is poor compared to our understanding of most bacteria that cause disease. Transmission of Borrelia occurs primarily through the bite of ticks. The disease affects every tissue and every major organ system in the body. Clinically, it can appear as a chronic arthalgia (joint pain), fibromyalgia (fibrous connective tissue and muscle pain), chronic fatigue, immune dysfunction and as neurological disease. LD may even be fatal in severe cases.

The diagnosis of Lyme disease is primary based upon clinical evidence. There is currently no laboratory test that is definitive for Lyme disease. Many tests give false negative results. Physicians not familiar with the complex clinical presentation of Lyme disease frequently misdiagnose it as other disorders such as: Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS), Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Motor Neuron Disease (ALS, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis -Lou Gherig’s disease), Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Syndrome (MCS) and numerous other psychiatric disorders such as depression and anxiety.

Lyme disease is a familiar name to most people, but their knowledge of it is very limited. Unfortunately, this is also true for most professionals in the medical community.

Movie about Lyme disease

This movie has recently been released in the United States.  Watch the trailer.
It is a MUST see if you are a Lyme sufferer.

The South Africa Government and Insurance companies MUST change their attitude to Lyme Disease and recognise it for the debilitating disease that it is.

It is NOT in the mind!

Unless you have suffered with Lyme Disease, you can NEVER understand what it does to you.
How it tries to strangle you and and slowly suffocate you, stealing your life from you !!

Report of Lyme Disease in South Africa

"Lyme disease in South Africa"
Sonet c. Strijdom, Michael Berk

(click title for link)

Objective. This article presents an overview of Lyme disease (LD) as it applies to neuropsychiatry and summarises research results on the epidemiology of LD in South Africa.

Method. The study is based on a review of research papers from various medical disciplines that focused onthe epidemiology of LD in South Africa.

Results. Assessment of the incidence of LD in South Africa is based on a few anecdotal studies. The results of the studies are dominated by experimental weaknesses.

Conclusions. The sporadic nature of LD incidence in South Africa may either reflect a restriction of research efforts or be a true indication of the epidemiology of the disease.

This review lends support to the former hypothesis. The low reported incidence of LD in South
Africa is probably due to a lack of awareness and research effort.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Since 1995 I have firmly believe after extensive research on my part that I had Lyme Disease but I was told emphatically there was NO way I could have it as Lyme Disease was only found in Connecticut, USA.
Well, 15 years later Lyme Disease has been diagnosed as one of illnesses that are afflicting my body. This disease is cased by Borrelia.
Click on the above title for a link to a report on the prevalenceo of this disease in South Africa. The research was conducted by researchers from the University of the Witwatersrand, where I was employed until recently when it became impossible for me to do my job any longer due to the ravages of these illnesses on my body.
It is my opinion that MUCH more research needs to be put in to this area and I have to wonder as to how many people are out there suffering like I am, with a wrong diagnosis.
In 2000 I was given the diagnosis of 'possible multiple sclerosis'..... then when a MRI showed no further signs of plaque growth on the brain, I was told it may be Lupus, or Epstein Barr, Maybe Sjogren's disease, etc, etc. I was even on medication for 'epilepsy' for 5 years because the doctors didn't know what was wrong with me.
So for the best part of 25 years I have continually felt ill and weak and my family think I am a hypochondriac.
Even with my diagnosis in February 2010 of
Rickettsia Coronii,
Q Fever (Coxiella Burnetti),
Mycoplasma pneumoniae,
Chlamydia pneumoniae and
Lyme Disease,
they say it is all in my mind. Actually, I believe my ex boss thinks the same because I look fine on the outside, if just a little tired.....
